Dynamic Binocular Infared Pupillometer with New Pupilfit 6.0

This product is designed for clinical researchers who need flexible, user-defined protocols for high frame-rate pupil light reflex measurements.

Dynamic pupillometry is the measurement of pupil motion in response to brief flashes of light to either left, right or both eyes.

Dynamic pupillometry is a very powerful tool and is commonly used in both general and neuro ophthalmology to objectively quantify pupillary signs such as the relative afferent pupillary defect (RAPD).In addition, dynamic pupillometry has been shown to distinguish between physiological anisocoria and Horner's Syndrome, without the need for cocaine eyedrops

Dynamic pupillometry is also used in Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical studies of new drugs by Contract Research Organisations (CRO's). Our earlier P2000D dynamic pupillometer has been used effectively by several leading global CRO's for high profile drug studies.

Examples of research areas in which dynamic pupillometry is currently used:

CNS and neuromuscular disorders   Sleep disorders  Neurological and psychiatric disorders

We offer a new automated instrument with the following features:

  • Pupil area measurement (projected into circle or ellipse)
  • Frame rates up to 25 frames per second
  • Real time processing with display of fitted pupil during patient positioning and data acquisition
  • Up to 80 seconds continuous capture at 25Hz
  • Six 'hot buttons' for fast user-defined stimulus acquisitions
  • Automated pupil reflex parameter analysis
  • Small 'footprint' - laptop PC compatible: USB 2.0 and at least Intel Core 2 Duo 1.83Ghz + 3GB RAM required - XP/Vista/Windows 7 compatible
